Nice but still no iPad Pro

I cant believe that NYT could not provide us with a iPad Pro version 6 months after the introduction of this device size. But overall great navigation and contente as always.

Great App.

This is The proper Way to experience The Web. Very nice Interface coupled with the habitual quality of NYT

Finally!

The long wait is over. A full-fledged version of The New York Times made it finally to the iPad. It comes with even more content than the regular paper, including blogs like The Lede, photo slideshows and videos. The overall style is familiar to its predecessor, the Editors choice v1.0. My only problem is the fact that pictures are not saved locally on your iPad if you havent viewed them before going offline. But that could easily be remedied by a small update. The actual content is, as expected, the very best you can get when it comes to investigative journalism.

bring it back!

Love the app. Since the update it does not work anymore. Great journalism that can be loaded before leaving the house and then read offline. Will rate it a 5 once it works again.

Perfect App.

This is a really good app!!

Best newspaper App i came across yet.

Bad App...

Its advertised as ePapper...but its not.

Content great - layout fails

This app has given up so many of the gratures that made it such a great reading experience under iOS 6. Now, just like on the regular website, you have to scroll, gone are the columns of text that allowed you to read large parts of the article on one screen, Please bring back the old design - it was so much better.

What happened with the UI / Layout

I really liked the app, but now it looks really strange with too much space. What happened?

NYT _was_ the best newspaper app

I praised the NYT app as the best newspaper app, especially thanks to its marvelous general navigation (in two dimensions) which enabled me as a reader to get a fast overview. I recommeded it as a model for a good newspaper app HMI. Now its only a "not bad" app. Why do people worsen things?

Looks pretty but still suboptimal

This app is beautiful. But I have a serious problem: news content is not updated properly. Sometimes the app says ‘Updated Today’ but all the articles are still more than a day old. Some other times the app just refuses to update the news content. Also articles stream continuously into the app, which makes it difficult to pick out today’s news. (The Guardian’s iPad app does this much better. It bunches articles by date like regular newspaper.)

constant crashes

at this point the app is unusable. it crashes constantly when i try to update or change the section.

Good App

Very often I read the New York Times article in addition to a German digital paper. To subtract the subjective views in an article from reality. The articles are generally of a good quality. The New York Times allows to read ten articles per month without subscription.

NYT the news app

Only the NYT articles pass the excellence of the app

IPad Pro

Now the ipad pro is around for quite a month and the most relevamt publication group still did not manage to provide an app that is perfectly made for the larger screen... Poor performance as you were one of the first companies with a landmark app for the ipad. The other 2 stars are dedicated to you being the best newspaper in the world... Contentwise

iPad pro

Please customize the app for to iPad pro!

dreadful

Wont even synch to my iPad. Then, when trying to synch it manually, iTunes seized up so badly I had to "hard" reboot my computer. The first truly awful app I have encountered.

Possibly worst app on net

Beneath the dignity of the Times. Crashes more than any other App. Five times in a row. Made in China no doubt by Romney campaign workers. Never improves or is fixed. They dont care. They take my money because they are the Times. Often read the Washington Post instead. At least its still free. R

Let us buy single issues!

Im repeating what others have said, but maybe someone in NYT sales will eventually get it: make it possible to buy single issues! I love reading the Sunday edition - otherwise I dont have time. I definitely dont want a subscription; I just want to spend $2 or so, once a week, and get the full Sunday NYT on the iPad. Thatd be brilliant. Even better, provide a Sunday-only subscription.

Sunday Subscription

I agree with an earlier reviewer. NYT needs to sell individual papers. At the very least a weekend or Sunday only option.
