Works well, loads fast, solid design, easy to find articles and sections, links to all online accounts, nicely done NYT

I like this app but every few days it goes into a freeze mode where nothing happens, until you wait 45 seconds or so and it returns to life.

The worlds best English paper has the worlds best app. Fast - regular updates - easy to navigate.

If paper never existed and news was always delivered digitally, then the NY Times app would be the interface that everyone used to get the news. You can re-arrange every news section and read them in the order of preference and completely ignore the sections that are of no interest. Those with poor eyesight (like me) can enlarge the font-size. I also look forward to doing the daily Mini Crossword Puzzle. Having said that, nothing compares to sitting down with the newsprint edition on a Sunday morning with a cup of tea and two slices of toast. I did not give the app 5 stars because it lacks split-screen support (iOS 9).

Love the app. Its clear, easy to read, like reading the paper with extras.

The upgrade from the previous Editors Choice app is overall a welcome one. Performance had taken a minor hit, but thats an acceptable tradeoff. Text selection is mysteriously missing though. This means you cant easily look a word, or copy an interesting quote. Other minor gripes include lack of sensible video browsing by category and no cache-all-content for offline (e.g. on the subway) reading.

Used to be great but now nor only most of the site is no longer free but even for the tiny remaining version, navigation is soskow that it is meaningless. I deleted the app and switched to web surfing. Nyt needs to shake things up

I have an iPad 1 & after an update on 7/5, the app keeps crashing on start up... This is completely unacceptable when you are charging on a subscription basis. Please update with fix immediately.

Ok, here we go again: For reading newspapers, its scroll up and down to read that article, and scroll left and right to go to a different article or section. I have confidence that youll get it right eventually, NYT.

I have been using this app ever since it first came out, and I am a big fan of the New York TImes in general. (I suppose this means I am somewhat biased.) The app has had its ups and downs, but I would say that it has been improving steadily overall. There was a period (right around the time iOS 5 first came out) that the app crashed so often on my iPad (original version) that I had to switch to using the Web site as an alternative. There have been several updates since then, so they are working to squash the bugs. The crashes are now much less frequent, and I would not be surprised if they do not affect iPad 2 owners as much. So though still far from perfect, this app is quite usable in its current form. I personally use it every day and could not imagine living without it (although I suppose I could revert back to the Web site or the Times Reader app on my Mac in a pinch). Highly recommended.

Since updating this, I cannot open the app on newsstand.

Beautiful texts, nice interface, but once articles are updated the old ones are no longer available from this app. Because updates are very frequent and only limited number of articles appear after each update, this app is not good enough if withouht accessibility to archives.

Cant discontinue the subscription, written twice already. Bloody incredible! Dont subscribe to NYT, because you cannot get out. beware!

Even though this can be the greatest app,the ad interrupts us to read. Its so frustrating,so in conclusion, it seems it demand us to pay to read the whole parts of the news.What a shame....

I have enjoyed reading the New York Times daily until the last three days. For the last three days my IPad has opened the Times to a black screen. Please help. Thanks.

Huge improvement to the crossword puzzle. Love it. It deserves five stars easily only if it supported split screen multitask.

Its resolution not fitted in iPad Pro. I want to view NYT via an optimized application.

Really really fantastic newspaper. The editing is so good. The videos are wonderful.
